Project Runners
Bring execution into your private networks. Route tasks by tags to the runners that can reach the right infrastructure.
Over the past year, Semaphore UI Pro has become a more capable home for production automation. We have expanded what teams can run, connect and manage, and improved the support behind it. Now we are introducing a configurable Pro license that reflects how teams use those capabilities.
Production automation needs more than a way to start a task. It needs to reach private infrastructure, keep state and credentials under control, and make results easy to review. Pro now brings these pieces together, from Project Runners and Terraform state storage to external secrets and execution summaries.
Bring execution into your private networks. Route tasks by tags to the runners that can reach the right infrastructure.
Keep state alongside your automation with the built-in HTTP backend for Terraform and OpenTofu.
Connect HashiCorp Vault or OpenBao to use centrally managed secrets in your automation.
See which servers succeeded and which need attention, with a clear summary of each run.
Use your identity provider through OIDC and add another layer of protection with two-factor authentication.
Export task logs to files so your team can retain and review execution records.
As more teams rely on Pro for production work, we have improved business-time support too. Every Pro configuration includes it, so you have a team to turn to when you need help.
Customer feedback and real-world use showed that the old Pro 1, Pro 4 and Pro 10 packages could not fit every setup. We are replacing them with one configurable license. Choose your infrastructure capacity, then add users, Project Runners and instances separately. We have kept an affordable starting option at $20 per month, with the same Pro features and business-time support in every tier.
Infrastructure capacity and team size are different needs. A small team may manage hundreds of hosts, while a larger team may work with fewer. The new model lets you set each part of your license to match your work.
The hosts, servers or devices your automation manages. Each distinct node counts once per monthly usage period, even if you run tasks on it many times.
The Terraform or OpenTofu resources you manage through Semaphore UI. Nodes and resources come together in your infrastructure tier.
People who create, edit and administer Pro automation. Add seats as your team grows. Operators with limited access may not need a Pro seat.
Execution agents that run tasks close to private or isolated infrastructure. Add Project Runners when you need automation to reach another execution location.
Separate Semaphore UI deployments for the same team and infrastructure, such as production, staging or test. For each limit, use the highest monthly managed-node or managed-resource count among the covered instances. Their counts are not added together.
The work continues beyond this new license model. Next, we are connecting workflows to more of your systems and bringing automation logs into your security monitoring tools.
Trigger multi-step automation through the API, so your existing tools can start a workflow in Semaphore UI.
Export automation logs to the security monitoring tools your team already uses, so you can review them alongside other events.
These are two of the improvements we are working on for Pro. There is more planned for the months ahead, and we will share details as each release is ready.

The old fixed packages did not fit the different ways teams now use Pro. The new model lets you choose infrastructure capacity and add the users, Project Runners and instances your setup needs. Every tier includes the same Pro capabilities and business-time support.
No. A smaller capacity tier changes how many managed nodes and resources your license covers, not which Pro features you receive. Every tier includes the same Pro capabilities and business-time support. Users, Project Runners and instances can be added separately.
Yes. The starting paid configuration includes 50 managed nodes, 500 managed resources, one Pro user, one Project Runner and one instance. It costs $20 with monthly billing or $199 with annual billing, before applicable tax. You can also start a 30-day Pro trial without a credit card before choosing a paid configuration.
We count the distinct nodes Semaphore UI actually manages in each monthly usage period, not inventory entries or refreshes. A temporary VM counts if it is managed during that period. If 50 VMs are replaced by 50 different managed VMs before the period resets, the count is 100. Repeated runs against the same VM count once. For a fast-changing fleet, Sales can help you size a tier from a representative usage pattern.
Your existing terms stay in place through the end of your paid period. You can move to configurable Pro then, or earlier if you choose. Check your transition options in the Customer Portal or contact Support for help.
Yes. The price depends on the infrastructure capacity, users, Project Runners and instances you select, so some configurations cost more than the previous packages. Your existing terms remain in place through your current paid period, and eligible existing customers may receive a transition offer.
You can increase capacity or add users, Project Runners and instances during your paid term. Available changes can be made in the Customer Portal. If your needs decrease, you can choose a smaller configuration for the next term.
One license supports up to 500 managed nodes, 5,000 managed resources, 25 Pro users, 25 Project Runners and 3 instances for the same team and environment. Independent production environments may use separate licenses. For higher limits or a complex multi-team deployment, talk to Sales about Enterprise.
Yes. Annual Pro purchases can be paid by card or by an invoice requested during checkout in the Customer Portal. Invoices can be paid by bank transfer within 30 days. Monthly subscriptions are paid by card. The final amount, including any applicable tax, is shown before you confirm the order.
No. Community, Pro and Enterprise remain self-hosted. You deploy Semaphore UI in your own environment and retain control of your automation, credentials and operational data.
